Ты грузной барже скорости придашь,
По суше двинешь бодрый экипаж,
Великий Пар! Могучая десница!
Взлетит на небо чудо-колесница,
И люди полетят под облаками,
Они помашут сверху нам платками,
И армии на небо взмоют махом,
Толпу на суше переполнив страхом!

SOON shall thy arm, UNCONQUER’D STEAM! afar
Drag the slow barge, or drive the rapid car;
Or on wide-waving wings expanded bear
The flying-chariot through the fields of air. —
Fair crews triumphant, leaning from above,
